Manufacturing

Christchurch City Libraries’ Internet Gateway provides a list of relevant and authoritative websites. This month we look at manufacturing.

The local and national websites gathered together in this section of the Internet Gateway have, as their common goal, a desire to promote the success of business by creating the most desirable environment possible for businesses to grow. As Statistics New Zealand writes on its website, the manufacturing industry provides goods from raw materials or assembles products from components.

Websites of particular interest are:

• The Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, focuses solely on encouraging and supporting manufacturing in Canterbury and the South Island.
• Business NZ, promotes a competitive growing economy and represent the interests of New Zealand’s employment and business sectors to promote business excellence.
• The Employers and Manufacturers Association, which provides memberswith a collective voice, informs on topical issues and provides information and specialist advice.
• Packaging Council of NZ, works to ensure issues of packaging usage and waste are addressed voluntarily by the New Zealand packaged goods industry.
