New look for The Pulse Te Auaha

The Pulse/Te Auaha is Christchurch City Libraries’ website for 13- to 18-year-olds. It connects young adults with information on anything and everything affecting their lives, from music and movies to relationships, study and school.

The Pulse has tips from teenagers on the latest cool stuff to read, watch and listen to. There’s interviews with young people who are out there succeeding in music, sport, drama, writing, all kinds of things. There’s also information and advice about those big and not-so-big life steps, like getting a driver’s licence, learning to cook, finding a job, making money go further, or starting and coping with relationships.

The site also lists local events and have regular competitions for this age group. This week, take the time to check out some of the great stories on pulse.

Next week: Science Fiction

British sci-fi writer Arthur C Clarke died earlier in March at the age of 90.  Although most famous for his short story The Sentinel, which was made into the film 2001 : A Space Odyssey, Clarke authored over a hundred books.  Gene Roddenberry credited Clarke with inspiring him to create Star Trek. Next week we take a look at the science fiction resources available at Christchurch City Libraries.
