Getting the most out of your digital camera
Digital cameras have made a huge impact on people's lives in the last few years. It's so easy to take, save, edit and share your shots that everyone can take good quality photos. And even if you don't, you can delete the photo and start again
The capabilities of the equipment keep improving, and software to edit, correct and create slideshows is now drag-and-drop simple.
So how do you make sure you are getting the most out of your digital camera? Use your library to find out more about photography, and practice, practice, practice!

Resource of the week: Heritage photo collection
Christchurch City Libraries has a wide selection of digital photographs documenting early Christchurch and Canterbury. Sourced from newspapers, archives, books, reports and donations from private collections, the photographs depict the people and places that give the region its unique identity. From the Avon River to city scenes; from farming to retail stores - the photos provide an insight into how we lived and worked way back then.
- Samples of a selection of just some of our images have been arranged under broad topics to show the scope of the collection. Click on one of these topics to view.
