Amelia Frances Rogers (1849-1928)

The daughter of pioneer Burwood settler Henry Inwood and sister of Arthur Inwood of Inwoods Road, she arrived in Lyttelton in 1851. She was a school teacher, founder and long-term supporter of the Burwood Anglican Sunday School, and also for many years postmistress at Burwood. The photograph was taken about the time she was honoured with an afternoon of entertainment by local residents for her years of service to the Burwood area
