Betty Gilderdale Award

The Children's Literature Association Award was established in 1990 and was presented to recognize a person who has made an outstanding contribution to New Zealand children's literature. In 2000 the New Zealand Children's Book Foundation amalgamated with the Children's Literature Association of New Zealand to form the Children's Literature Foundation of New Zealand. The Children's Literature Association Award was renamed the Betty Gilderdale Award in honour of a founding member of the Children's Literature Association of New Zealand.
