Margaret Mahy Medal Award
This award is presented annually to a person who has made an especially significant contribution to children's literature, publishing or literacy, and honours New Zealand's leading author for children. Members of the Children's Literature Foundation of New Zealand are asked to nominate contenders for the award, and a panel from the NZCLF selects the recipient. A ceremony is held in March each year where the recipient delivers the Margaret Mahy Lecture and is presented with the Margaret Mahy medal.
