The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award
For the 2008 awards, Christchurch City Libraries nominated John Tomb's Head, The Madonnas of Leningradand Mister Pip.
2007: Blindsight by Maurice Gee
In 2006, we selected Book Book by Fiona Farrell.
In 2005, the following titles got the popular vote:
- The Scornful Moon by Maurice Gee
- Shot by Sarah Quigley
- The Mango's Kiss by Albert Wendt
Christchurch City Libraries' customers have a chance every year to influence the largest and most international literary prize by nominating three books for The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award
The Award is a joint initiative of Dublin Corporation, the Municipal Government of Dublin City, and the productivity improvement company IMPAC. It involves libraries from all corners of the globe, and is open to books written in any language.
Conditions are: In order to be eligible for consideration for the 2008 Award a novel must have been: first published in English between 1st January 2006 and 31st December 2006, both dates inclusive, or first published in a language other than English between 1st January 2002 and 31st December 2006 and first published in English translation between 1st January 2006 and 31st December 2006 (all dates inclusive).
