Computers

There are several different types of public access computers in our libraries:

Free PCs: Free access thousands of web sites and Office applications.
Pay PCs: Internet, email and Office applications (for free).
Catalogue: Search our catalogue and databases.

Note

Diamond Harbour, Little River and the Mobile Library do not have public access computers.

Booking PCs

Some PCs in the network are available to be booked for either half an hour or up to an hour. Bookings can be made in person at libraries with the Pharos system.

Wireless access

We are now offering free wireless access at some of our libraries.

Other technology & services

We do not currently offer scanning or image, sound or animation editing.

Office applications

OpenOffice and Microsoft Office are available on our Pay PCs & Free PCs. There is no charge to use Office applications, even on Pay PCs.

CD writing

Most public computers have CD writers and CD Roms can be purchased.

USB Flash Drives and Memory Cards

The Pay PCs can access USB drives at all our libraries and USB drives can be purchased at some of our libraries. Some Pay PCs have a flash memory card reader attached to enable access to your memory card e.g. Sony memory stick.
