Christchurch City Libraries is now featuring photographs of library customers on our website. We’d like to increase the number of images we show, and invite you to submit your own digital photo for possible inclusion on the site. Thank you to Radio New Zealand for the inspiration for this feature.
We’d like to receive images that show a wide range of library customers. Ideally, we’d like photos that show customers engaged in library activities, whether reading or using our websites, at the library, at work or at home. We’re also happy to receive photos of you and your family/friends that can be used to say what you love about the library. We look forward to receiving your photographs.
Submitting your photograph
By submitting a photo, you agree to accept our conditions. Please email your digital image to us (maximum file size 1Mb), making sure that you include the following details in your email:
- Your name
- Contact phone number(s)
- First names of people who appear in the photograph (if more than one, please locate them e.g. “from L to R”)
- Briefly describe the library activity they are engaged in, or what they love about the library
Photo guidelines
- Where possible, you show the subject engaged in a library activity, but this is not essential as long as the photograph is interesting and well-composed.
- Your image should be of a good quality, in colour, and in focus.
- File size needs to be less than 1Mb.
Conditions
Christchurch City Libraries reserves the right to refuse any image, or choose not to publish it.
By submitting a photograph you agree that:
- the subject(s) featured in the photo use Christchurch City Libraries.
- the subject(s) of your photo has/have consented to this use of the image. In submitting a photo, you are responsible for ensuring this consent has been given. Other than to remove images on request, Christchurch City Libraries will take no responsibility for use of photos which are later found to have been submitted without consent or without meeting these conditions.
- you grant Christchurch City Libraries licence to use your photo for the purposes described here on a permanent basis.
- no fees or royalties are payable in respect of submitted images.
- Christchurch City Libraries may crop or edit your photo as required.
