Upper Riccarton Community & School Library, Main South Road, Christchurch. An integrated community and school library that continues a strong emphasis on environmental building design.

Parklands Library, Queenspark Drive, Parklands. A recycled 1970s church building transformed into a community resource and vibrant meeting place within a newer Christchurch suburb.

Winner of Te Tohu Whare Pukapuka Tāmatanui/Public Library Award in the Central Government, Local Body and Public Library category.

2005 NZ Post Management Excellence Awards: Category winner for AnyQuestions.co.nz (Process Management).

3M Award for Innovation in Libraries: 1st place National Library with Auckland, Wellington, Christchurchand Manukau Public Libraries
AnyQuestions.co.nz is an online reference service for New Zealand school students, which enables users to get direct, real time, online help from a reference librarian in finding quality information to meet their school work needs. Staffing for this project is funded by The National Library of New Zealand, Auckland, Christchurch, Manukau and Wellington City Libraries and the Ministry of Education.

Māori Language Week Awards 2004
Ngā Kete Wānanga-o-Ōtautahi: Christchurch City Libraries won the Local Government category and was the the supreme award runner up in the inaugural Māori Language Week Awards.

New Zealand Institute of Architects Awards
South Library
received a supreme award for architecture at the NZIA awards. This was one of only five supreme awards given. In addition to the supreme award the building was also a winner in the "community and cultural" and the "colour" sections.

Unlimited 20 Best Places to Work
Each year, the Unlimited/JRA Best Places to Work Survey reveals the top organisations to work for in New Zealand. In 2003, 128 organisations participated in the survey. Christchurch was ranked 13th overall and 4th of the medium sized workplaces (100 - 399 staff).
